Spring Cleaning: Tips for Tackling the Task

February 24, 2023

Spring Cleaning is an activity dreaded by many, but others enjoy. Granted, it may be a hassle to clean every bit of dust and grime left behind by the chilly winter months; however, being proud of how spotless and wonderful your home looks after a good, deep clean feels amazing. If you have no idea how or where to get started in your home, follow these simple tips to help you get the job done.

Looking at your entire house and figuring out how to manage your time to tackle each room can be a little overwhelming. Try to break up the workload by dividing up different areas of the house and assigning them specific days or weeks depending on their cleanup state.

If you find it hard to stay focused on cleaning and you become distracted easily, set the timer on your phone for 10 or 20 minutes and be as productive as possible during this time frame. Then, take a little 2-3 minute break before you start the timer again. Since music enhances productivity at the gym, why wouldn’t it work while cleaning? Crank up some tunes and enjoy dancing and singing along to your favorite songs while you clean your home.

Finally, get your family involved. Obviously, one person cleaning an entire house is overwhelming and seemingly impossible. Give your children and spouse specific chores or tasks to finish to make the workload lighter and faster. You can also offer your children specific rewards such as a night out to dinner or a family fun night for helping accomplish the task of Spring Cleaning your home.
